• April-25: I was awarded the inaugural MIT Press Alumni Book award for "The Abundant University: Remaking Higher Education for a Digital World."

• April-25: I participated in a panel discussion about licensing copyrighted content for training in Generative AI models at a workshop sponsored by the Association of American Publishers and the Copyright Alliance.

• April-25: I was a keynote speaker at the University of Zurich's Symposium "FutureU: Universities in the Digital Age."

• March-25: I was quoted in a Variety article on the rise of Netflix (and the fall of Blockbuster).

• March-25: I just published an article in the MIT Press Reader titled "Masters of None: The Flawed Logic of One-Size-Fits-All Education." The article is based on a chapter from my book The Abundant University: Remaking Higher Education for a Digital World.

• February-25: I was a co-author on a report from the U.S. Copyright Office titled "Identifying the Economic Implications of Artificial Intelligence for Copyright Policy: Context and Direction for Economic Research."

• January-25: I was quoted in an NPR Marketplace story about Netflix's quarterly earnings and their decision to remove subscriber numbers from future earnings reports.

• December-24: My paper with Naveen Basavaraj, Uttara Ananthakrishnan, and Beibei Li "Now You See Me: How Streaming Platforms Enable Diversity in Movies" was presented at the 2024  Workshop on Information Systems and Economics in Bangkok, Thailand.

• November-24: I was interviewed by NPR's Morning Edition about video streaming live sports and Netflix's glitches with streaming Tyson-Paul.

• October-24: I was awarded the INFORMS ISS Distinguished Fellow Award. 

• October-24: I was awarded the INFORMS ISS Practical Impacts Award.

• October-24: My paper with Naveen Basavaraj, Uttara Ananthakrishnan, and Beibei Li "From Sidekick to Spotlight: The Rise of Diverse Leads in Digital Streaming Platforms" was presented at the 2024 Conference on Information Systems and Technology in Seattle, Washington.

• September-24: I delivered a virtual lecture on "The Abundant University: Remaking Higher Education for a Digital World" as part of Arizona State University's annual Frank Rhodes Lecture Series.

• August-24 - I was quoted in an NPR Marketplace story about Disney reporting its first profit on streaming.

• July-24: I published an opinion piece in Inside Higher Ed titled "The Progressive Case for Reforming Higher Ed"

• July-24:  I was quoted in an Agence France-Presse story about competition in the streaming market.

• April-24: I will be participating in a panel titled "In Pursuit of Equity: Redesigning Higher Education for a Digital World" at the 2024 ASU+GSV Summit.
